Frequently Asked Questions

Should I take the Jenny Lake shuttle?
Yes, it saves 2 miles and significant elevation. The boat runs ~$18 round trip. Otherwise, walk the 2-mile trail around the lake.
Is bear spray necessary?
Yes. Grand Teton has active grizzly and black bear populations. Carry bear spray and know how to use it.
Can I extend to the Teton Crest Trail?
Yes! From Lake Solitude, you can continue to Paintbrush Divide for a challenging full-day traverse. This requires a car shuttle or hitchhike back.
